Te Ao Mana Director, Anthony Aiu collaborated on this original work centering on Poli’ahu and bringing together fantastic Pacific Island artists. “E aha ‘Ia Ana ‘O Mauna Kea” (What is being done Mauna Kea?) brings together Hawaiian mo‘ōlelo, contemporary dance, and music through the lens of māhū. The story of the snow goddess Poli‘ahu reflects themes such as the protect Mauna Kea and Aloha ‘Āina movements. This premier is made possible by the Leeward Theatre, the MAP fund, and the Native Arts & Cultures Foundation.
