Te Iho O Te Ora

What a wonderful and fulfilling opportunity it was to work again with Poerani Germain and her group Ia Ora Te Hura for their first Heiva onstage. Our overarching theme was Mana, which was felt immensely throughout the process and particularly at our final rehearsal when the heavens opened up and poured their blessing upon us. Many laughs, stubbed toes and aching muscles accompanied the building of lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories over the course of our collaborative residency. Winning first prize for Best Group Performance, Best Orchestra, Best Orchestra Creation, and Best Composer was just the cherry top. Mauruuru maita’i Ia Ora Te Hura.
