What an honor it was to open the event with prayer, land acknowledgment, and cultural dances. Every year the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council holds this gathering for members, artists, and officials to be able to get to know each other better, mingle, network, and learn more about each others’ organizations and projects. It was a crisp and beautiful sunny morning, and such a delight to hear the music and drums of our tupuna no Moana Nui A Hiva echo throughout the Harlem community in upper Manhattan.
