Dance Parade NYC 2016

Our first Global Harmony project together, even before we had a new name for our group, was to prepare a Hōkūle’a themed presentation for the annual New York City Dance Parade. It was quite a feat to bring together as many dancers and halau, including children and kupuna as we did. We were so blessed to have such a great turnout from the community. We had over 60 dancers, kupuna and keiki, live musicians, an emcee, conch shell blowers, and chanters. Our showing was epic and became an example to follow. It also helped prepare us for when the actual va’a Hōkūle’a would arrive in the harbors of Manhattan later in the year.
