We have a halau of hula sisters in Montreal, Canada. They are very dedicated to their hula practice and very respectful of our cultural traditions. When their director Nada Kehau’oliliko heard our Alaka’i was going to be in the area, she asked if they could have an Oli workshop for the halau so they could participate in the kehea to stand for Mauna Kea. Luckily everything worked out, we did hula and taught chants. They were delighted they were able to connect to Mauna Kea from Montreal and add their voices. What a lovely bunch of ladies!
