Any time spent with Aunty Pua is an uplifting experience. She is one of these very special spirits. Humble yet she is wahine koa, powerful but not intimidating, there is peace about her, though I know she is dealing with a lot of weight on her shoulders. She knows how to lift your spirit and restore hope for a brighter future and love in your heart. With that said, anything she asks, we will do. We had the privilege of performing at the Kūkulu Art Exhibit in Kona, Hawai’i. There were lots of wonderful people, performances by Hāwane and beautiful hula by Aunty Pua herself. We were even lucky to cross paths with Brother Mikey and his family and hear his new song ‘Like the Mauna’ up on Mauna Kea. This is the life!
